Dixie Chopper Replacement PTO Clutches
Shop aftermarket Dixie Chopper PTO clutch replacements for select Classic, Xcaliber, Zee 2, Silver Eagle, Run Behind, and related Dixie Chopper mower applications. Dixie Chopper used multiple electric PTO clutch paths, so the best way to confirm fitment is to match your original clutch part number, crankshaft bore, pulley diameter, rotation, connector style, and mower model or serial range.
Common Dixie Chopper PTO clutch replacement numbers include 500012, 500144, 500056, and 500067. These clutches are not universal. Even when two clutches share similar broad specs, they may use different bore sizes, pulley diameters, rotation directions, wiring, or anti-rotation setups.

How to Choose the Correct Dixie Chopper PTO Clutch
Do not choose by mower brand alone. Before ordering, confirm the original clutch number from your old clutch, parts manual, or mower documentation. Then compare the physical specs:
- Original clutch number: 500012, 500144, 500056, 500067, or another confirmed Dixie Chopper number
- Crankshaft bore: commonly 1-1/8 inch on these heavy-duty applications
- Pulley diameter: 6-inch, 7-inch class, or 7-3/8 inch depending on clutch path
- Rotation: CCW or CW from pulley side
- Connector style: compare the plug or pigtail to product photos
- Anti-rotation setup: confirm the stop, bracket, or mounting style matches your mower
Important rotation warning: Dixie Chopper 500012 and 500144 use CCW rotation on their supported paths, while Dixie Chopper 500056 uses CW rotation. Installing the wrong rotation clutch can damage the clutch and prevent proper blade engagement.
If your blades will not engage, the clutch clicks but the blades will not spin, or the deck starts slipping under load, the PTO clutch may be worn. A weak clutch coil can also work cold, then fail after the mower heats up. Start with our PTO clutch won’t engage guide or compare symptoms before replacing parts.
