At PTO Direct USA, we know that choosing the correct electric PTO clutch can be confusing. Different pulley diameters, crankshaft sizes, OEM supersessions, and cross-references can make it difficult to know exactly which part your equipment requires.
That’s why we offer a Fitment Guarantee to protect you before installation and ensure you receive the correct OEM-spec replacement clutch for your machine.
What Our Fitment Guarantee Covers
If the clutch you receive does NOT match the specifications of your OEM clutch due to an incorrect part number listed on our product page, a manufacturing defect, or a shipping error, we will replace it or refund it — as long as the clutch has not been installed or test-mounted.
We stand behind:
- Correct OEM cross-reference
- Correct bore size
- Correct pulley diameter
- Correct rotation
- Correct wiring style
- Correct bolt pattern and mounting profile
If we make a mistake on the listing or send the wrong unit, we fix it immediately.
Why Installed PTO Clutches Cannot Be Returned
Electric PTO clutches are precision electromagnetic components. Once mounted, they show immediate signs of installation, including:
- Hub and pulley wear marks
- Bearing load imprint
- Coil activation scarring
- Mounting surface compression
- Torque strap stress
Even a “quick test fit” or “just tightening the bolt” counts as installation and permanently alters the part.
Because of this, installed clutches cannot be returned or resold, which is the same policy enforced by all major OEMs and distributors.
What To Do If Your Part Doesn’t Look Correct
If something seems off, do NOT install the clutch.
Instead:
- Take a photo of the unit and OEM tag if available.
- Contact us immediately with your order number.
- We’ll verify OEM numbers and cross-references.
- We’ll provide a replacement or refund if applicable under this guarantee.
We fix issues quickly — the key is not to install the part until everything is confirmed correct.
Condition Requirements for Returns Under This Guarantee
To qualify for a Fitment Guarantee replacement or refund:
- The clutch must be unused.
- The clutch must be uninstalled (no mounting marks or witness marks).
- The clutch must be in new condition.
- All included components and packaging must be present.
This allows us to maintain quality control and ensures every customer receives a brand new, untouched clutch.
How to Confirm Fitment Before Ordering
To avoid delays, you can verify compatibility using any of the following:
- OEM part number from your mower’s manual
- OEM number printed directly on the clutch you’re replacing
- Model and serial number of your equipment
- Contacting us with your OEM number before ordering
