At PTO Direct USA, we respect your privacy and try to keep things straightforward. We use personal information to operate our store, process and ship orders, provide customer support, collect customer feedback, prevent fraud, and improve the shopping experience.

PTO Direct USA does not sell customer names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or order information for money.

Our store is powered by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform and related tools we use to offer our products and services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information when you visit our website, place an order, create an account, submit a review, or contact us. We refer to our website and these related activities as our “Services.”

The Short Version

  • We use your information to process orders, ship products, provide support, and operate the store
  • We do not sell customer information for money
  • Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, fulfillment partners, and other providers receive information to support the services described below
  • We use review services such as Judge.me; when Google Customer Reviews is enabled, transaction information is also shared with Google, and its survey emails require your opt-in

Personal Information We Collect

“Personal information” means information that identifies you or can reasonably be connected with you. It does not include information that has been anonymized or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably identify you.

Depending on how you use our Services, we may collect or process the following categories of information:

  • Contact information: Your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, and phone number
  • Order information: Products purchased, order history, returns, exchanges, cancellations, shipping status, and transaction details
  • Payment information: Payment method, payment status, transaction confirmation, billing details, and limited payment-card information made available by the payment processor
  • Account information: Login information, saved addresses, preferences, and account settings
  • Customer-support information: Messages, photographs, mower information, model and serial numbers, original part numbers, and other details you provide when requesting fitment or order assistance
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, device type, network information, pages viewed, products viewed, cart activity, and interactions with the website
  • Communication preferences: Your subscriptions, unsubscribe requests, and choices about promotional communications or review surveys
  • Submitted content: Reviews, photographs, feedback, fitment information, or other content you choose to provide

Payment-card information is handled by Shopify and authorized payment processors. PTO Direct USA generally does not receive or store your complete credit or debit card number.

We do not request or intentionally collect Social Security numbers, medical information, or similar highly sensitive information. Please do not send this type of information through our contact forms or email.

How We Collect Information

We may receive personal information from:

  • You directly, such as when you place an order, create an account, contact us, request fitment help, submit a return, or post a review
  • Your device or browser, through cookies and similar technologies when you use the website
  • Shopify and service providers, including payment processors, shipping carriers, fulfillment partners, analytics providers, review providers, fraud-prevention services, and customer-support tools
  • Advertising or referral partners, when you visit our website through an advertisement, search result, affiliate link, or other referral source

How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Process payments and complete orders
  • Arrange shipping and provide tracking information
  • Handle returns, exchanges, refunds, and order concerns
  • Provide fitment assistance and customer support
  • Create and maintain customer accounts
  • Remember cart contents and shopping preferences
  • Improve our products, listings, website, and customer experience
  • Request, collect, verify, manage, and display reviews and customer feedback, subject to applicable consent requirements
  • Measure website traffic and advertising performance
  • Send promotional emails when you have subscribed or when otherwise permitted

  • Maintain business, tax, accounting, and transaction records
  • Comply with legal obligations and valid government or court requests

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and third-party providers, including Shopify, Google, and review providers, may place or read cookies and use pixels, web beacons, or similar technologies. These tools help:

  • Keep the shopping cart and checkout working

  • Display review widgets and survey invitations and support review-related services

  • Understand how visitors use the website

How We Disclose Personal Information

We disclose personal information for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

  • Shopify: To host and operate our online store, checkout, customer accounts, analytics, and related ecommerce features
  • Payment processors: To authorize payments, issue refunds, prevent fraud, and complete transactions
  • Shipping carriers and fulfillment partners: To pack, ship, deliver, track, replace, or return orders
  • Technology and support providers: To provide website hosting, cloud storage, communications, customer support, security, and technical services
  • Analytics and advertising providers: To measure website use, understand advertising performance, and provide advertising features we have enabled
  • Review and survey providers: Including Judge.me and, when enabled, Google Customer Reviews, as described in the sections below
  • Professional advisers: Such as accountants, insurers, or legal advisers when reasonably necessary
  • Government or legal authorities: When required by law, court order, subpoena, or another valid legal process
  • Business transactions: If PTO Direct USA is involved in a sale, merger, financing, reorganization, or transfer of business assets
  • At your direction: When you ask us to disclose information or consent to a particular service

Some recipients process information on our behalf. Others, including Google and Shopify for certain activities, process information independently under their own privacy policies.

Customer Reviews and Judge.me

We use Judge.me to request, collect, verify, manage, and display product and store reviews. To provide these services, Judge.me may process your name, email address, order and product details, fulfillment information, submitted reviews, and related device or interaction information.

We may send review invitations after a purchase where permitted by applicable law. You can decline to submit a review, use the unsubscribe option in a review invitation, or contact us about future review requests. These requests are separate from the Google Customer Reviews survey described below.

If you submit a review for public display, your chosen display name, rating, review text, and any photographs or other content you include may be visible to website visitors. Please avoid including addresses, payment details, or other private information in public reviews.

Google Customer Reviews

When Google Customer Reviews is enabled on our store, the survey opt-in module on our order-confirmation page shares transaction information with Google, including your order number, email address, delivery country, and estimated delivery date.

Sharing this transaction information is separate from your choice to receive a survey email. The module transmits information to display and operate the program; declining the survey invitation does not necessarily prevent that transmission.

Receiving a Google Customer Reviews survey email is optional. Google may email you after your estimated delivery date only if you opt in through its survey prompt. Your choice does not affect your order or automatically subscribe you to PTO Direct USA promotional emails. Survey responses may contribute to store ratings displayed through Google services.

Google and other third parties involved in the program may place or read cookies and use web beacons or similar technologies to collect information in connection with Google Customer Reviews. See the “Cookies and Similar Technologies” section above for cookie-management options.

Google processes information it receives independently under the Google Privacy Policy, which explains its uses of information across Google products and services, retention practices, and available privacy controls. Your survey-email choice and our advertising opt-out tools serve different purposes; neither should be assumed to prevent every disclosure to Google.

We Do Not Sell Customer Information for Money

PTO Direct USA does not sell customer lists or personal information for money.

Some state privacy laws use the words “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” more broadly. Under those laws, certain uses of cookies, advertising tools, or Shopify features may be classified as a “sale” or “sharing” even when PTO Direct USA does not receive money for the information and does not provide another merchant with direct access to our customer list.

You can opt out of data uses that may be considered a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law by visiting our Privacy Choices page.

Personalized Advertising and Marketing

We may use Shopify features or advertising services to measure advertising performance and show advertisements based on activity such as products viewed or added to a cart.

You may opt out of certain advertising-related data uses through our Privacy Choices page. Where required, we also recognize the Global Privacy Control signal sent by a supported browser or device.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the message. Even if you unsubscribe from promotional emails, we may still send necessary communications about your orders, account, returns, or customer-support requests.

Our Relationship With Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes information about your access to and use of the store to provide checkout, payment, security, analytics, personalization, and other ecommerce services.

Information submitted through our store is transmitted to Shopify and may also be processed by service providers that help operate these features.

If Shopify Network Intelligence or other enhanced Shopify features are enabled, Shopify may use information about your interactions with PTO Direct USA, Shopify, and other participating Shopify merchants to improve its services, personalize shopping experiences, measure advertising, or support advertising features.

This does not give PTO Direct USA access to another merchant’s customer list, and it does not give another merchant direct access to ours.

For processing performed independently by Shopify, Shopify is responsible for responding to applicable privacy requests. You can learn more through the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy or submit a request through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Third-Party Websites and Marketplace Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or marketplace listings. When you follow a link to another website, that website’s privacy policy and terms apply.

PTO Direct USA does not control how third-party websites collect, use, or protect information you provide directly to them. We encourage you to review the applicable privacy policy before completing a purchase or submitting personal information.

Security and Data Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, along with the security features provided by Shopify and our service providers, to protect personal information.

No website, payment system, or method of electronic transmission is completely secure. Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive information through ordinary email or contact forms.

We retain the personal information we maintain for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Process and document orders
  • Provide support and manage returns or disputes
  • Prevent fraud and chargeback abuse
  • Maintain tax, accounting, and business records
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Enforce our agreements and policies

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why it is needed. We may retain limited transaction records even after a deletion request when required for taxes, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or other lawful purposes.

Providers that process information independently, including Google and Shopify for certain services, determine their own retention practices under their privacy policies and applicable law. Deleting information from our store does not automatically delete information those providers independently maintain.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply, you may have the right to:

  • Access or know: Request information about the personal information we maintain about you
  • Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Delete: Request deletion of certain personal information
  • Obtain a copy: Request a portable copy of certain personal information
  • Review disclosures: Request information about the categories or, where required, specific third parties to which personal information was disclosed
  • Opt out: Opt out of data uses legally defined as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for certain optional processing where consent is the legal basis
  • Appeal: Appeal the denial of a privacy request where applicable law provides that right

You may submit a request through our Contact Us page. For advertising-related opt-outs, you may also use our Privacy Choices page.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. This helps prevent someone else from accessing or deleting your information without authorization.

An authorized agent may submit certain requests on your behalf where permitted by law. We may request proof of the agent’s authority and may ask you to confirm the request directly.

If we deny a request and applicable law provides an appeal right, contact us again and clearly state that you are submitting a privacy appeal.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Requests involving information independently maintained by Shopify, Shop, or Shop Pay may also need to be submitted through the Shopify Privacy Portal. For information Google independently maintains, use the privacy controls and request options described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults purchasing mower parts and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 for targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable privacy laws.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

Processing in Other Locations

PTO Direct USA operates in the United States. Shopify, Google, and other providers may process or store information in the United States, Canada, or other countries where they operate.

We take steps to meet the international-transfer requirements that apply to our handling of personal information. Our providers also have responsibilities for their own processing under applicable law and their agreements with us. Information about international processing by Google and Shopify is available in their privacy policies linked above.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our store features, service providers, privacy settings, or legal obligations change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.

If a change materially affects how personal information is used, we will provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
