FAQ
Why is the keyed spacer seated in the pulley-side bore?
The keyed mounting bushing may arrive seated in the pulley-side bore for shipping. This is not its installed position on reverse-mount applications. Before installation, gently push or lightly tap the spacer free through the center bore using a non-marring tool.
Position the spacer on the coil side only when required by the mower’s original hardware arrangement. The end of the crankshaft and the bushing must not touch. If the bushing bottoms against the crankshaft set it aside and use the provided flat washer instead. The washer should bear against the bearing’s inner race without contacting the bearing seal or outer race.
If the correct spacer arrangement is unclear, contact PTO Direct USA with photos of the original clutch and crankshaft before installation.
Can this clutch be installed in two pieces?
This replacement installs as a fully assembled, one-piece clutch. Confirm there is sufficient frame clearance to position the complete assembly during installation.
Does this replace Grasshopper or Woods 606242?
Yes. 606242 is included in the confirmed replacement path for compatible Grasshopper and Woods mower applications.
