The stiffener reinforces the blade mounting area. It is a separate component from the cutting blade.

The supplied replacement blades are medium lift. OEM references can include different blade profiles; compare the blade style required by your side-discharge, mulching or bagging setup.

Compare the blade length, round center hole, blade profile and stiffener shape with your original parts. Follow your mower's manual for component orientation, mounting hardware and bolt torque. If your deck has been converted to a different blade system, follow that system's instructions for stiffener use.

Is 5/8 inch the blade length?

No. It is the diameter of the round center hole. The replacement blade length is approximately 21-1/2 inches.

Does the stiffener-only option include mower blades?

No. It contains two blade stiffeners only. Select 2 Blades + 2 Stiffeners to receive both components.

Will these fit every Toro or Exmark 42-inch mower?

These parts are for the blade-and-stiffener applications described above. Check the model and serial range, or confirm the original component numbers for your deck.
