The deck tag identifies the cutting attachment. The tractor has its own model and serial tag, which is needed for tractor-side PTO and clutch parts.

Three spindle positions per deck. Deere directs the older AM135349 bearing-and-housing reference to AM144377. Our aftermarket spindle listing offers single, two-pack and three-pack options.
The spindle pulley is a separate selection. Use the M140059 pulley reference for this deck.

Three used per deck. This is the blade-spindle drive pulley, shown at item 32 in the Deere diagram. The catalog specifies 156.8 mm outside diameter, approximately 6.17 inches.
Match this pulley number when replacing the spindle and pulley together.

Replaces M142997. Deere lists one secondary mower deck belt at item 16: approximately 128.12 inches effective length and 16 mm width.
Use the OEM number when requesting a replacement; belt length alone does not establish the correct fit.
Mower Blades | M143504 / M152727
Three blades per deck. The diagram lists M143504 for standard lift and M152727 for high lift, both at item 23.
Select a matching set for the deck and discharge or collection setup. A 48-inch or 54-inch blade bundle is not a substitute for these 62C blade references.
Flat Idlers | AM37249 / AUC16698
For the catalog’s through-300000 serial group, Deere lists these flat-idler references:
- AM37249: 103.88 mm outside diameter, item 11A.
- AM106627: 138 mm outside diameter, item 11B.
- AUC16698: replacement for AM106627, item 11C.
AM106627 and AUC16698 are the same replacement path, not two additional pulleys to order. Match the installed pulley location and diameter.
Spindle Shaft Kit | AM148011
Replaces AM127432. Deere lists this spindle shaft kit with grease fitting at item 25. It is a separate repair reference from the complete spindle assembly.

Serial Break: Check Before Ordering Idlers
The pictured deck serial ends in 122769. It belongs to the catalog’s through-300000 group for the serial-dependent parts shown on this page.
The diagram also includes later parts. In particular, AUC25486, replacing AM135957 / AM147272, is the V-idler listed for serial 300001 and above. Use the flat-idler references above for the earlier serial group and compare the installed arrangement before choosing parts.
Which PTO Clutch Does It Use?
The 62C deck tag does not identify the tractor’s PTO clutch. Clutch and PTO-drive components must be looked up under the tractor’s complete model and serial number. An electric clutch listed for another John Deere mower should not be selected simply because both machines use a similar spindle.
Send a photo of the tractor identification tag, along with any clutch or PTO-drive label and a photo of the installed setup. We will match the tractor-side parts separately from the deck parts.

Use the John Deere 62C belt, blade, idler and spindle diagram to compare the numbered parts and serial notes. Look for item 36 for AM144377, item 32 for M140059, item 16 for the belt and item 23 for the blades.
Deere separates the spindle assembly, shaft repair kit, pulley and blade into individual references. Review the selected aftermarket package contents so you order the parts your repair needs.
